Children's Influence Skills

A
Drupal (6) based web service that supports children to learn various influence skills. System contain very basic functions like adding, editing and removing content and commenting.
OpenID is used for register and login. I used Erimenu.fi as a reference in my master theses.

Autumn 2011
A band web site created with
Drupal (6). Includes simple blog system, gig calendar and media materials. Content is created by novice users so simple interface and very restricted but clear option set was required to implement.
Ethicants
December 2008 — June 2009
Demola project #45 which aimed to create a Firefox plugin which would fetch data from ethical data sources and show the data attached into
Amazon's product pages.
XUL marking language was used to create the plugin but most of the intelligence was done server-side with
PHP, JavaScript and
XML. The plugin is no longer maintained and therefore it is not available online.

Utain

Web version of the magazine called
Utain published by the
Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the
Tampere University. Created with the collaboration of journal students.
Drupal (6) based system which has been focused to the publishing process from the journalist point of view. Project was carried out as a post-graduate course.
Kelorock

Web site for a rock festival held at
Eurajoki, Finland called Kelorock. Various techologies have been used over the years including plain
PHP,
CodeIgniter and
Drupal. In the recent years also graphic designer's help was used. See

Kohtu

Web site for a grunge rock band called Kohtu from
Nakkila, Finland. Simple
HTML based site. Site is no longer online since the band has broken up.

Statster

My main passion. A web service which monitors user's music listening habits. Technologies include
PHP, JavaScript,

XML, etc. No framework is used. This project led me into dynamic web development. Contains about 30k lines of code.

A web service for supporting social interactions between students at
Tampere University of Technology campus and recently in all universities in
Tampere.
Drupal (6) based system with several social media features that you might expect to find in a social media web service. Main features are groups, user dashboard, profile and events.

A major interface and content hierarcy update for a production web service created with
Drupal (6). See also TUT Circle. Involved the replace of used Pixture-reloaded theme with new self-created Zen based theme among other things.
Visualizations
2007 - present
For a while I have been interested to visualize various data and since 2007 I have done some work on the subject. Passion to visulization things has risen from
Statster and have since grown to more complex network analyses. I have used several different component to complete these visualizations. To mention some to convey the idea I could point out
Gephi,
Gource,
Highcharts,
JavaScript InfoVis Toolkit and
Protovis. I have gathered some of the visualizations to
my blog so if you are interested of them it is the best place to start.
+ a great number of smaller projects that could be here but they are not.
